What’s been happening:

What a long strange trip it's been. I've done many varied things so far in my life (e.g., firefighter and emergency medical technician; professional engineer; designer of warhead re-entry vehicles, pressure sensors, cement plants, crushing machinery; teacher; rock climber; sailor; hiker; swimmer; world traveler; twice married; published writer), and now I investigate medical device accidents for hospitals all over the world as part of an independent nonprofit healthcare research agency. As part of this job I've had for 22 years, I lecture on healthcare safety and risk management issues, write articles for several journals, and assist other engineers and scientists evaluate medical devices and their problems. I am married and live in Doylestown, PA, in a house in the woods by a stream. My wife Jeanette is a writer, information researcher, former owner of a boutique PR agency, and current PhD candidate in Information Science. My eldest daughter (BA in Psych from Lycoming) is married, my younger daughter (BS in Comm from Penn State) works for a marketing firm in Bucks County , my eldest stepson is at Brown studying logic and mathematics, and my younger stepson (Eagle Scout and runner) is in 12th grade heading to UMBC; all are gifted. We have two English bulldogs and lots of wildlife around the house.
